Special day...
Oh my...the girl has left behind the single digits forever. Sob, sniff... She wanted to come out feet first, and she is still exerting her will each and every day. In a good way, of course. Mostly. No but seriously, she is such a curious, fun, creative, smart girl...it's so exciting to see her growing up, even if it is also heart wrenching! She still likes to play with her brother, for which I am always grateful. She loves cats (clearly), and she is quite the artist! (I need to post some of her drawings.) We are going out tonight for a birthday dinner, but tomorrow night is the swimming/slumber party. Woot! Happy birthday, sweet girl...despite my and your father's foibles and parenting in-expertise, I think you are turning out OK.

Happy Birthday M3!!!!!
I sent your Mom a package with N's old coat today. You're probably almost the right size.
My advice to you as you have hit double digits:
Close your eyes before you roll them as a response to your parents (harder for them to catch you)
Come up with a special rescue me phrase so that if you need to get away from a friends house or a bad day at school, you have a code that noone will know. Even something as simple as "Bob ate a tuna and jelly sandwich at lunch that was really gross."
Learn to cook something new every month. You'll have about 100 dishes before you leave home and good cooks/bakers are always popular (ask your Dad- I still miss the desserts he made!)
Don't listen to music that is too loud. You'll want to hear the high notes when you are older.
Know that you can call any of us to talk if you need a friendly voice or advice.
Happy B Day M3! You are (quickly) growing into an even more awesome young lady. As for advice, I had a great list, but Paula used it for herself...
Just kidding. :)
My advice is that you should always make room for your brother as one of your friends. Sometimes that's an easy thing and sometimes not. But it's always a great thing.
I hope you enjoy your B-day party!
Pete
Cry, cry, sob, sob...happy, happy, joy, woot!! These are my emotions looking at her photo. I can't believe it. Love you M3.
